Acar Work, a cornerstone of Edirne’s commercial landscape since its humble beginnings on January 21, 1988, recently marked its 38th anniversary with a special commemorative event.
Thirty-Eight Years of the Acar Legacy
The foundations of the Acar Work group, which today operates across various districts including Çilingirler Avenue, Kıyık, and Şükrüpaşa, were laid nearly four decades ago. Since its inception, the business has become a household name in Edirne, particularly through its flagship brand “Edirne Çilingir,” synonymous with the principles of integrity and master craftsmanship. To mark the transition from traditional tradesmanship to a modern corporate structure, General Manager Eren Acar hosted an intimate dinner for family members and colleagues. Held at the renowned Ciğerci Niyazi, the celebration served as both an anniversary milestone and a symbol of the brand’s deep-rooted commitment to the future.
Hard Work Stretching from 1988 into the Future
Founder Ahmet Acar, known as “Kör Ağa” in the village of Osmanlı, reflected on his 38-year journey that began at the age of 22: “I have meticulously built this business over 38 years with great passion, honesty, and hard work. For us, our true capital has never been the cash register, but the trust of the people who walk through our doors. It is a profound honor for me to carry the same work ethic from that first day in 1988 into the future as a family legacy.”
Ahmet Acar, who also serves as the master locksmith of the firm, was hospitalized last month due to health issues. Following his recovery and intensive care process, he formally handed over the operational leadership to his sons.
Eren Acar, who is spearheading the integration of traditional craftsmanship with modern organizational models, highlighted the company’s digital transformation and branding process: “Acar Work is a symbol of trust built upon 38 years of experience. Our mission today is to blend this deep-rooted expertise with the necessities of the digital age and modern management processes. We view every project as a struggle to build corporate value and are designing our future through this dedication. Our goal is to carry the flag we inherited to even greater heights with a strategic vision and professional management approach.” In addition to his father’s local achievements, Eren Acar is also developing digital projects aimed at providing innovative solutions to industry challenges. Joining the celebration via a live digital link was Enes Acar, Ahmet’s other son and an automotive locksmith specialist based in the Netherlands.
Acar Work: Etched in the City’s Memory
Since 1988, Ahmet Acar has operated in diverse sectors ranging from plastics and locksmithing to electronics and apparel, mentoring dozens of masters and apprentices along the way. While the team continues to offer niche services under specialized brand names, Eren Acar unified all operations under the “Acar Work” corporate umbrella on May 5, 2025. In a tribute to their roots, the 38th-anniversary celebration honored the exhaustion and excitement of the early days while officially igniting the flame for a full-scale corporate transformation.
